#Managing access to different points of sale
For multi-store accounts, you can define which points of sale each user is authorized to access from 'Settings/Users/Multi-store – Access management'.
By default, every new user has access to all points of sale.
We recommend limiting each user's access to the points of sale where they work. This helps prevent data entry errors, such as recording a sale at the wrong point of sale.
To limit a user's access:
- Disable the button on the row corresponding to the user concerned.
- In the drop-down menu that appears, select the points of sale the user is authorized to access.
Note: when a user does not have access to a point of sale, they cannot view the reports associated with it either.
#Automatically preselecting a point of sale on the login page
On the account login page, points of sale are displayed in alphabetical order by default. The first point of sale in the list is automatically preselected.
To automatically preselect a point of sale based on the network being used, you can associate an IP address with each point of sale.
To do so:
- Log in to the point of sale concerned.
- Go to 'Settings/General settings/Printers & receipts'.
- Enter the point of sale's IP address in the IP address field.
This is usually the IP address displayed directly below the input field.
When a user logs in to the account from this IP address, the associated point of sale is automatically preselected on the login page.
Warning: if your Internet connection does not have a static IP address, the point of sale's IP address may change, for example after restarting the router or following a power outage. In this case, the association with the point of sale may no longer work.
#Viewing the login history
You can view the users' login history from 'Settings/Users/User login history'.
This section also allows you to unblock a user whose IP address has been blocked after several unsuccessful login attempts.
To unblock the user concerned, click the red cross next to their name.
