HibouLink connector
#What is HibouLink used for?
HibouLink is the program that handles your printing (receipts/labels) and sends the amounts to be collected to your payment terminal.
HibouLink is installed on a computer on your network.
#Do I need to install HibouLink on every device?
No.
If you only use network printers, one active device running HibouLink is enough to manage printing for your entire account.
For example, if HibouLink is installed on your central PC, a smartphone connected to the same network can trigger a print job without needing to have HibouLink installed on the smartphone.
Important: HibouLink needs to be installed on at least one device on the network, but not necessarily on every device used for the point-of-sale system.
#Prerequisites
Before configuring HibouLink, make sure that your printers and payment terminals are properly installed.
Network printers and terminals:
Devices connected to the network must have a valid IP address.
More information about network configuration.
Local printers:
Printers connected directly to your computer, for example via USB or Bluetooth, must be properly recognized by your operating system.
In particular, you must be able to print a test page from your computer before configuring HibouLink.
#Installing and configuring HibouLink
1. Install HibouLink
From your account, go to: 'Settings/Printing/HibouLink'
Then download and install the version of HibouLink corresponding to your operating system.
iOS devices:
HibouLink is currently not available for iOS.
If you use an iPhone or iPad, you can install HibouLink on another computer on the same network. Print jobs requested from the iOS device can then be processed by that computer.
Alternatively, refer to the guide dedicated to printing from an iOS device.
2. Configure HibouLink
Open the HibouLink configuration page in your browser.
HibouLink is always accessible at: http://127.0.0.1:40009/config/
The settings required to configure HibouLink are available in: 'Settings/Printing/HibouLink'
A button allows you to automatically send your account settings to HibouLink.
Once the settings have been retrieved:
- Check the displayed information.
- Save the configuration.
- Open the Home section in HibouLink.
- Enable the connection.
3. Configure your printers
In 'Settings/Printing/HibouLink', enter the relevant information for each destination printer.
For a network printer or terminal:
Enter its IP address.
For a local printer:
Enter the exact name of the printer as it appears on your computer.
This applies in particular to printers connected via USB or Bluetooth.
⚠️ The name must be entered exactly as it appears, including capitalization, special characters, and spaces.
If your printer has a complex name, we recommend renaming it directly on your computer using a simple name.
4. Enable HibouLink
Once your printers have been configured:
- Enable HibouLink communication in 'Settings/Printing/HibouLink'.
- Perform a test print.
If the print job is successful, your configuration is complete.
If printing fails, check the error logs in HibouLink to identify the cause of the problem.
In particular, check that:
- HibouLink is properly connected;
- the printer is accessible;
- the IP address is correct for a network printer;
- the printer name exactly matches the name configured on your computer for a local printer.
#Is the legacy Himp method still available?
Yes. Himp is still supported.
However, we recommend migrating to HibouLink, which helps overcome browser limitations, particularly those related to accessing the local network.
HibouLink therefore provides a more reliable solution for communication between your point-of-sale system, your devices, and your printers.
