Only network printers (Ethernet or WiFi) are compatible for printing from a Mac.
1/ Install your printer on your router and obtain its IP address. See the guide.
2/ Download the program Himp: click here
Himp automatically retrieves files to print from our servers and directs them to your printer for instant printing.
Make sure the Himp folder is fully unzipped in your Downloads folder.
To install Himp, use the Mac Terminal and follow these steps:
– Open the Mac Terminal in 'Applications/Utilities/Terminal'.
– Type cd Downloads/Himp
and press Enter (this command navigates to the Himp folder in your Downloads directory).
– Type ./install.sh
and press Enter (this command runs the Himp installation file).
– When prompted with 'Do you wish to configure local printers', answer n
for no.
– Close the Terminal.
If you use multiple user sessions on your Mac, start by installing Himp in the administrator session.
Then, install Himp on secondary sessions, selecting the 'Install for this user' option.
3/ Complete your printer setup on your account, in the 'Settings/Printing/Printing tests' section.
Select 'network printer' from the dropdown menu and enter the printer’s IP address.
When you test printing from your account, the status of the document sent will be displayed.
If the printing status is 1 and no ticket is printed, it means that the printer is not available:
– check the printer’s network configuration,
– make sure there are no documents pending that could block the printer, or that it isn’t paused.
If the print status is 2 and no ticket is printed, it means that Himp is not setup properly:
Restart your Mac and/or reinstall Himp.
